Jasmine Tubach- Studio Owner & Director
Jasmine Tubach, was born and raised in Williamsburg Va. She is a 2015 graduate of James Madison University were she was a Theatre and Dance major with a concentration in dance. Her dual major was Anthropology and Sociology, with a concentration in Sociology. Miss. Jasmine is currently a member of the RVA Dance Collective, a professional modern dance company based in Richmond. Jasmine's training began at Broadway Dance Arts where she was a member of their competitive team. She was a student of Miss. Shawn's and learned how to dance in this safe space. She fell in love with dance while at BDA.
Miss. Jasmine’s passion to choreograph was developed and refined while at James Madison. Here she choreographed seven works with four of them showcased in JMU’s Student Concerts, including her most recent work “The Drifting Light”. Miss. Jasmine believes art should be made to touch and change lives. Miss. Jasmine also had the privilege to be a member of James Madison University's Contemporary Dance Ensemble and preformed with them in March of 2013 and 2014. She was able to represent the university at the Route 11 Dance Festival, where she performed “Out of Frame” choreographed by Olivia Landrum. This piece was chosen to open for the Trey McIntyre Project.
Miss. Jasmine was able to develop her strong performance skills through being a member of the Virginia Repertory Dance Company (VRDC). She had the pleasure of traveling to China with the company where she taught and performed in the Sichuan providence. Miss. Jasmine has worked closely with various artists across the country including Christopher K. Morgan, Karen Reedy, Nicholas Johnson, Emily Cargill and Eluza Santos from Brazil, among others. Miss. Jasmine performed with VRDC on the JMU Main Stage Theatre, Dogtown Dance Theater, and at the Jack Guidone Theatre in D.C.
In 2016 Miss. Jasmine married her late husband Justin Tubach. The couple were best friends since 2007. They started dating in 2014 and married in 2016. The couple were easy going, God-fearing and people loving. They purchased a home in Williamsburg in 2018 and were expecting their first child July 2020.
January 17th, 2020, Justin was in a fatal car accident one night on the way home from Miss. Jasmine's performance in Richmond. The pregnant, newly widowed Miss. Jasmine was at a loss. She thought to herself 'I will never dance again' and immediately was corrected in her mind with a loud 'YES YOU WILL' from the Lord! She didn't know how her life would rebuild after this tragic loss but she has persevered and the Lord has provided for her.
July 1st 2020 her son Jackson was born, her and her late husband's only child, their legacy. Having Jackson has healed Miss. Jasmine's heart in so many unexpected ways. Jackson helps the dark days seem brighter and fills the once empty home with laughter.
Early 2021 Miss. Shawn was prompted by the Lord to discuss selling the studio with Miss. Jasmine. When they left their meeting Miss. Jasmine was giddy thinking 'I am a single mom, a young widow how can I be a studio owner?!" but she is just that - The Studio Owner! December 2019 before Justin's passing, the couple discussed buying the studio and Justin gave his full support. He was a very business minded man and jumped at the thought of owning a studio with his beautiful wife. They decided to let the holiday's go by and discuss with Miss. Shawn January 2020 but as you know Justin's accident and passing changed all that. However, God found a way and has made it happen. As of November of 2021 Miss. Jasmine is the owner and director of the beautiful Broadway Dance Arts.
Miss. Jasmine is thrilled and looking forward to the future knowing that she will continue to pursue her love of dance through teaching, performing and choreographing. She will continue to always give the glory to God for her life, her joy and her success!
